At 9 a.m. on January 17, bathed in bright warm sunshine, the industry-university-research cooperation signing and unveiling ceremony of Changyuan Changtong New Materials Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as CYCT) was successfully held. On the same day, the company formally established strategic partnerships with Beijing Institute of Technology (BIT) and Wuhan Institute of Technology (WIT). Hand in hand with the two universities for mutual progress, CYCT hits the accelerator for technological innovation and industrial upgrading.

The company’s core management including the chairman and general manager, together with representatives of the technical team, gathered with distinguished guests: Professor Luo Yunjun and Professor Xia Min from the School of Materials Science and Engineering, BIT, as well as Professor Liu Fangjun from the School of Materials Science and Engineering, WIT, to witness this landmark moment. The signing signatures carried firm resolve, and sustained applause echoed during the unveiling session. The three parties held in-depth exchanges on cooperation visions and core priorities, and reached a consensus to launch a new chapter of university-enterprise collaborative innovation under the principle of “complementary advantages, mutual benefits and win-win results, and joint development”.

As one of China’s top science and engineering universities, the School of Materials Science and Engineering of BIT boasts profound research accumulation and elite technical teams in the R&D of advanced materials and forming technology innovation, enjoying nationwide renown for its academic strength and industrial influence. Professors Luo Yunjun and Xia Min attended the ceremony in person. CYCT and BIT will focus on the core track of polymer materials for special service environments and carry out in-depth cooperation covering two major dimensions.

1.Core Cooperation Focus

Centering on the development and industrialization of polymer materials and forming technologies for special environments, both sides will target and break key technical bottlenecks in production, driving product technology iteration and industrial upgrading.

2.Resource Support

CYCT provides industrial foundations for laboratory research commercialization, while BIT delivers professional guidance and technical backing to guarantee smooth transformation and application of research achievements.

3.Joint Project Application

The two parties will jointly apply for industry-university-research funding programs and share project resources to build a virtuous cycle of “research — project application — achievement transformation”.

4.Technical Service Backing

BIT will dispatch professional technical experts to CYCT annually to provide technical services related to special-environment polymer materials, helping the enterprise tackle practical technical challenges in R&D and manufacturing.

5.Two-Way Talent Cultivation

Through joint R&D projects and technical seminars, the two sides cultivate interdisciplinary technical talents with solid theoretical knowledge and practical capabilities for CYCT. Meanwhile, industrial practice platforms will be offered to BIT students to align academic research with real industrial demands.

As a key university constructed by Hubei Province, Wuhan Institute of Technology features engineering-dominated disciplines with coordinated multi-subject development. It boasts distinctive academic strengths and robust research capacity in chemical new materials and polymer material application, highly matching CYCT’s industrial layout. Led by Professor Liu Fangjun, the WIT delegation attended the ceremony. The two sides will build an all-round, multi-level and long-term cooperation system.

Joint R&D Center Establishment

The two parties plan to set up the University-Enterprise Joint R&D Center for Functional Polymer Materials, focusing on the development, production and application of heat-shrinkable polymer materials. Through commissioned R&D and joint research project applications, the partners will promote technology introduction, digestion, absorption and re-innovation to fuel iteration and upgrading of CYCT’s related products. WIT will also provide technical support for the company’s production and R&D to jointly solve R&D challenges of market-oriented new polymer materials.

Deepened Two-Way Talent Cultivation

CYCT will build internship bases for undergraduates and provide joint supervision services for Master of Engineering students of WIT, offering practical posts and industrial insights for students to realize joint talent training and coordinated employment promotion.

Unveiling Ceremony: A New Journey of Mutual Empowerment

Witnessed by all guests on site:

Professor Luo Yunjun of BIT’s School of Materials and Dr. Xu Huanhui, General Manager of CYCT, jointly pulled off the red silk cloth, marking the official launch of the bilateral cooperation platform and the deep integration of university academic expertise and enterprise industrial resources.

Professor Liu Fangjun of WIT’s School of Materials and Dr. Xu Huanhui, General Manager of CYCT, unveiled the plaque side by side, kicking off follow-up work including joint R&D and talent cultivation. As the silk cloth fell, thunderous applause burst out, carrying high expectations and best wishes for the trilateral cooperation.

Dual-Driven Collaboration to Draw a New Blueprint for Development

The signing and unveiling ceremony with two universities stands as a vital milestone on CYCT’s path of technological innovation. Leveraging the two major cooperation platforms in the future, the company will further deepen collaborative innovation with universities, form a complete industrial chain covering “research — transformation — application”, inject new momentum into technological breakthroughs in special-environment polymer materials and functional polymers, and compose a more brilliant chapter for industrial upgrading and high-quality development.
