Project Introduction
Buried pipelines at Foshan Changhai Power Plant are originally equipped with sacrificial anode cathodic protection. According to previous cathodic protection test data, sections of buried pipelines inside and outside the plant were under-protected and failed to reach the effective cathodic protection criteria.
To fully record the whole project implementation process, clarify construction quality and system operating status, and meet the requirements of completion acceptance, operation handover and file archiving management, our company has systematically collected, standardized and uniformly compiled all documents generated throughout construction in strict accordance with national and industrial standards for compiling completion documents as well as the owner’s archive management regulations. A complete set of completion document system has been established to guarantee the authenticity, accuracy, integrity and traceability of all materials, which provides full supporting evidence for project completion acceptance, commissioning and subsequent maintenance.
All construction, installation and commissioning work of the newly built impressed current cathodic protection station (CP Station) for this project has been finished in compliance with design documents and construction specifications.
Comprehensive on-site inspection results show that the pipeline on-potential and instant off-potential fully satisfy the requirements specified in GB/T21448-2017 Technical Specification for Cathodic Protection of Buried Steel Pipelines. Continuous 24-hour data monitoring demonstrates that the stray current interference level of the pipelines stays within permissible limits without obvious AC or DC interference, and the protection potential remains stable during operation.
