Buried Natural Gas Pipeline Anti-Corrosion Repair and Cathodic Protection Project of Guangzhou Zhujiang Natural Gas Power Generation Co., Ltd.

The high-pressure buried natural gas pipelines within the pressure regulating gas station plant area of Guangzhou Zhujiang Natural Gas Power Generation Co., Ltd. were laid and put into service in 2006. There are four pipelines with a nominal diameter of D325 and one pipeline with a nominal diameter of D273, five pipelines in total laid in the same trench. Each pipeline is approximately 343 meters long, with an overall total pipeline length of around 1715 meters. The pipeline outer coating adopts an epoxy powder spray structure, and the pipelines are protected by a sacrificial anode cathodic protection system.

In accordance with the conclusions and recommendations stated in the Inspection and Evaluation Report on Buried Natural Gas Pipelines of Guangzhou Zhujiang Natural Gas Power Generation Co., Ltd., anti-corrosion repair will be carried out on the buried gas (LNG) pipelines of Guangzhou Zhujiang Power Plant. A cathodic protection scheme will be designed based on the overall pipeline current feed testing results after coating rehabilitation, adopting two cathodic protection types: sacrificial anode protection and impressed current cathodic protection, so as to ensure the safe and stable operation of buried natural gas pipelines belonging to Guangzhou Zhujiang Natural Gas Power Generation Co., Ltd.
