Project Introduction
The Yangtze River Crossing Project undertaken by the Crossing Branch of China Petroleum Pipeline Bureau is China’s first pipeline crossing project adopting full-length epoxy FRP outer protection, and it still holds the record of the longest crossing length nationwide to date, with a crossing length of 3,400 meters.
Survey results reveal that the crossing zone contains abundant rock formations with harsh geological conditions. To guarantee pipeline service safety and prevent scratching or peeling-off of anti-corrosion coatings at pipeline field joints, special modified epoxy FRP products independently developed by our company specifically for pipeline crossing works were applied.
The successful application of epoxy FRP delivers a fundamental solution to long-standing difficulties plaguing pipeline crossing construction and fills the market gap in outer protection materials for crossing pipelines.
